Started in 2018, the FOVEC BBQ has become yet another annual not-to-be-missed Fair Oaks Village event. A chance to gather with neighbors and enjoy good food, drink, music, and company.
We have just begun planning for this year's BBQ, hopeful the pandemic and weather will cooperate and allow us to enjoy the event safely.
This event is FOVEC's largest fundraiser of the year which allows us (along with all our wonderful volunteers) to support and promote the Village. Tickets will be limited so please buy now to avoid disappointment. You can purchase your tickets using this link.
If you are able to help organize, plan or sponsor this event please email now so together we can make this BBQ our best one yet!
Our online spreadsheet to track the details can be found here.
The American alligator is that rare success story where an endangered animal was not only saved from extinction but is now thriving. State and federal protections, habitat preservation efforts, and reduced demand for alligator products have improved the species' wild population to more than one million and growing.
What does this have to do with Fair Oaks Village? Well, it turns out one of your neighbors has helped manage the herd and is donating one of her trophies for auction at this year's BBQ!
The is no ordinary gator. This magnificent creature would make the perfect decoration in the right home or business, measuring almost twelve feet long.
As you can see in the first picture, Sue draped this gator "rug" over a low bench that her cat found to be the perfect perch. You may prefer to display it as a run or wall mounting.
No matter where you place it, make sure you have a great story to tell, as it is a guaranteed conversation
You can start the bidding now and monitor our other auction items online!

The Bar counter is a true FOVEC collaboration story. It was built by Keith at David’s place for our first ever BBQ dinner in 2018 and belongs to FOVEC. Leon and I brought it to Mikes place in 2019. Afterward Barry Brown asked his friends, the Crowther’s, to please let us store it at their barn; which is where Leon and I took it.
The Bar and its location is part of the FOVEC Inventory, which can be found in the Google Drive Finances folder. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DT37COiqouk_ypqRfk-f4Jp3h0Sw47bK8EhlhecgDVQ/edit?usp=sharing
Nan Danford has secured music for the BBQ- Matt Rainey will play on with members of his band, The Dippn Sauce. They play blues and classic rock tunes. He is a born and raised Fair Oakie!
I have reached out to Rotary's Interact group about once again helping with the BBQ. They will be meeting on the 21st to discuss, but since they will be out of school by then so suggested we have a backup plan.
