Our new Live Update is planned for Wednesday, April 28th at 8:30 AM via Zoom.
We expect to begin with an update on recent Village news and events, share upcoming Village plans and activities, spotlight a local merchant or Village resident and finish by opening up the meeting for questions and discussion.
These updates are for anyone who lives, works, or visits Fair Oaks Village and our goal is to make them both informative and entertaining.

My request is that we keep more grass in the Plaza Park. I recall when I went to a couple of preliminary meetings someone made a statement that in the winter the grass area became too soggy and wet. Well that rain that we usually do not have enough of is what keeps those trees green. It gets hot here in the summer...why would you put down more cement in plaza park? Sometimes it seems a planning committee might hear two or three people make a specific comment and they perhaps make a quick decision before really analyzing the pros and cons, the necessity of something, the wise choice etc. The idea they heard takes root in their train of thought and they can’t let it go or make an adjustment to the plan. We need shaded green grass to sit on, a place for all to enjoy, little kids to run, play catch with their families, have picnics etc and then walk over to the stores to see what treasures we might find. Id we or our kids fall while running after a ball or frisbee the green grass won’t scrap a knee! Yes I know the other park may have grass as well but you want to keep the stores in business so having people use Plaza Park which is across from the stores is ideal. Please keep more grass 💜
At today's Park Board meeting, the AMS recommendation on Arts & Entertainment Programs suggests significant changes to how the Parks District works with community partners and their involvement in arts and entertainment. I suggest we share this plan at the Update and seek community feedback.
At today's Park Board meeting they updated the dates to begin demolition again to the end of May. However, based on the discussion my view is that the date will likely move out again. For those who want regular updates people should view:

I do not have a link to the meeting. Is one going to be sent out?
