This post is for planning our upcoming virtual meeting with the community. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30th at 8:30 and is now set up as an event on our website and Eventbrite as a Zoom meeting.
Nan - We need to announce the Live Presentation. Can you do that the same as the first time around via our Website, via email to our members and via FB. Since FOVEC FB is a member of Leons Fair Oaks page, the announcement should show-up there automatically. Let us know if you need help.
Everyone - I was able to get ahold of Barbara Sestitos, Rachel Griffin and Vanessa. - Rachel will be the one speaking for the Chamber during the Updates, but Kim will be in attendance.
- Barbara wants to give a report on the Saint Patricks dinner fundraiser and let people know that the Fair Oaks Theater will be conducting virtual performances. She'll let me know who will be speaking. She wasn't feeling well. If that changes she might be the one speaking.
- Vanessa informed me that Rich cannot attend due to a conflict with a board meeting. He is happy to come to the next one to introduce himself to the community and hear of what we are doing. Vanessa is not aware of the county doing anything specific for the Village at the moment.
Moving forward we should pick dates in advance for the Presentations, the rehearsals, etc. They can always be cancelled if necessary.
Glad to hear the Chamber and Theater will be joining the update!
Assuming you haven't heard any pushback on the day/time of next week's meeting why don't we just lock in the last Tuesday of each Month at 8:30 for these updates?
Also suggest we try and find a volunteer to schedule speakers so we always have a primary speaker and backup for 2-3 meetings out.
I spoke to Mike Aho today about sharing more about the construction in the Village with a focus on the plans for different activities that are normally conducted in the Park areas in the Village. E.g.Events, Programs and Classes. He agreed that this is something they need to share with the community. He still needs to meet with the board to finalize some operational details but will be ready for the presentation. As for the general updates section we still want to keep it Village focused. I will reach out to Barbara Sestitos and follow-up with Rachel Griffith. Nan can share our Calendar of events plus a few other things such as where we stand with our Parking Project TOT Grant application; awards to be announced in April.

Nan and Keith - I will talk to Rachel this weekend about the Fair Oaks Chamber sharing their plans for future events in the Village along with their plans to help the village via the Fair Oaks/Orangevale Community Foundation. I"ll also reach out to Barbara Sestitos about the Theatre Festival's plans moving forward, especially during the re-construction of the amphitheater.
As Keith suggested, we can reduce our content generation workload by also using it during the Live Updates. Maybe it can be done in the style of a question & answer interview. Let's stay in touch and report back in the next few days.
We don't have a lot of time so let's simplify for the 30th and start planning earlier for the next one.
Suggest the following:
William to see if the Chamber is willing to headline give them the first speaking slot; if not, then
Nan to ask Carrie Merrill if she would like to introduce Fashion Rewind, otherwise
Keith ask Sommer to talk about Shangri-la
My thinking is we can reduce our workload by using our spotlights/stories in multiple "channels" (website, newsletter, live updates)
