Some time ago, we began a campaign to build an arch to highlight the village from Sunrise. Because that entryway is wide, the cost estimate to complete the arch is over $200,000. We are holding the donations received to build the arch as restricted funds, but have recently made little progress in adding to them.
The need to promote the village remains, but maybe the time has come to think about adding an LED sign like other local communities have that we could use to promote events and sell advertising to village businesses? The costs should be much less. It may generate more traffic than an arch and provide an ongoing funding stream for local volunteer activities.
The picture above shows what such a sign might look like. What do you think?
Very helpful - thanks! I don’t think the money is going to be the issue on this one. I don’t want to give up on the LED sign just yet as it would give us the greatest flexibility and benefit, but having a monument sign is certainly a better answer than keeping the one we have now.

Hey Keith,
Just passing along info, a sign contractor in the area said we would likely be looking at 15-20k for a new monument sign (the kind with placards for participating businesses). This is the same person who said doing something LED would be difficult to convince the county of, so the quote is for non-electrical. Seems doable...?
