Volunteers are essential to FOVEC’s goals, and even just an hour or two of your time can make a big difference. Better still, you will have the chance to work with some great neighbors and help the Village!
Most of our needs fall into one of the following five categories:
Outreach - people who are willing to explain FOVEC’s goals or events to Village residents, merchants, landlords, and key partners such as the County and Park District
Projects - people who are willing to help plan and implement FOVEC projects such as parking, signs, the Village arch
Events - people who are willing to help plan and implement FOVEC events such as our Monthly Live Updates, Spring Social or Annual BBQ
Administration - people who are willing to help update contact information, edit documents, and assist with quality checks on our website and newsletters
Leadership - people who are willing to take on Officer or Board positions to provide direction and make decisions
The other posts here are for specific volunteer needs. Talk with a Board member about the one you would like to help with or use the comment link below to share your name, how to best contact you, and what you are interested in doing!
FOVEC BBQ Fundraiser
Each (non-pandemic) year, we host an annual BBQ in the Village to help fund the many projects and events FOVEC hosts. We are lucky to have Dominic, who is chairing this year's event on June 5th, but he could really use a few more volunteers to help with planning, setup, serving at the event, etc. To learn more or volunteer, please contact Dominick@pmareps.com.
FOVEC Webmaster
We recently created this website using Wix to give us more capabilities like this Forum to stay connected to the community. Like any website, from time to time, it needs to be updated. Wix makes this very easy, so anyone with basic computer skills can easily do this, and I'm happy to help you learn. To learn more or volunteer, please contact me at Keith@HotFOV.com.
Fair Oaks Chamber Liaison
FOVEC is a member of the Fair Oaks Chamber. We are looking for someone who can attend Chamber meetings and help make sure each organization understands what the other is doing so we complement rather than compete for resources. To learn more or volunteer, please contact me at Keith@HotFOV.com.
